The Guards are the “Army” for the Kingdom of Camerondale
Citizens can join at the age of 16, sex, race or religion is left at the door. They go through a 3 month training camp, then released as Green Stars. They will be evaluated over the course of a year. About half will make it to Rank 1, but those who do not will be guided to an “officer” position. Think of it as a civil service type employment (mailman, construction, clerical). They will then rise in levels on their accomplishments and experience.

Black Ward
When thinking of the Black Ward, think of them like the FBI, CIA and Special Forces all wrapped into one. There is history behind this group and reasons why they exist. Guards who are deemed worthy will get to “try out” for this part of the “army.” Usually when they hit 3 or 4. Not everyone wants to be in the Black ward, but many of the men and women who join the guard, have that as their goal.
